Freedom Preparatory Academy is looking for teachers who:
- believe we must all do whatever it takes to make sure a student learns and is able to succeed both in the classroom and in life
- believe in measuring student academic achievement in tangible ways
- believe that data should drive classroom instruction and that a school's curriculum should be based on clear and rigorous standards
- believe that everyone at a school should be held strictly accountable for their work: students, parents, teachers, staff, leaders, and Board members
- believe the best way we can instill confidence in students and prepare them for college is to ensure they first master a core set of academic skills before tackling higher-level, abstract material
- believe in having the highest expectations for all students and not making excuses for them, for the school, or for staff members
- believe in building a positive school culture where mindfulness, achievement, professionalism, preparedness, enthusiasm, effort, perseverance, community, and hard work are valued
- believe that for every problem, there is a solution. If we can't find the answer immediately, we must simply work longer, harder, and smarter.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a mastery of subject knowledge, a proven ability to manage a classroom, and an entrepreneurial spirit and approach to teaching and school reform. Ideally, candidates will have at least two years of teaching experience in an urban school.
