AL BRIGHT, Board Chair Attorney Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada Al Bright, Jr. is an attorney who has provided counsel to emerging start-up business entities to Fortune 100 companies. Currently, Mr. Bright is an Associate at Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC, where he works primarily in the Corporate & Securities Practice Group. Mr. Bright brings years of legal experience to the board of Freedom Preparatory Academy. Mr. Bright will ensure that Freedom Preparatory Academy and its Board of Directors stay within the purview of the law at all times and with all actions.  

ERIC ROBERTSON, Board Vice-Chair Chief Administrative Officer Memphis Center City Commission Mr. Robertson is a native Memphian and a proud product of Memphis City Schools. As a graduate of Hillcrest High School, he decided to further his education at LeMoyne-Owen College before transferring to the University of Memphis and completing a Bachelor of Arts degree. Mr. Robertson brings a strong community connection asset to the Board of Directors of Freedom Prep. He will be actively engaged in creating new community partners and potential funding opportunities for the school. 

JOHNEL EVANS Human Resources Manager Medtronic Inc. Johnel Evans is a Human Resources Professional with 10 years of Human Resources experience. She has worked primarily with Fortune 500 companies, including Allstate Insurance, PepsiCo – Frito Lay, Honeywell and Medtronic. In her current role overseeing Talent Management with Medtronic, Ms. Evans is responsible for designing the organizational development strategy for and driving a “Talent Mindset” throughout the Spinal and Biologics organization in Memphis. Ms. Evans brings key personnel experience to Freedom Preparatory Academy.

CHERYL GREEN Program Manager of the Effective Practices Incentive Community New Leaders for New Schools Cheryl Green currently works as the Program Manager of the Effective Practices Incentive Community for New Leaders for New Schools. She has more than a decade of experience as a teacher, principal and education entrepreneur, and a demonstrated commitment to simply doing what’s best for children. Ms. Green is an educational asset to the board with her expertise in middle school education and her knowledge of best instructional practices through her work with New Leaders for New Schools. 

TERRI HARRIS Vice President of Account Services Red Deluxe Brand Development Terri Harris is Vice President of Account Services at Red Deluxe Brand Development. As part of her responsibilities, Ms. Harris oversees some of the agency’s largest clients, and her primary responsibility is to maintain the culture of refreshing solutions and service to Red Deluxe clients. Prior to joining Red Deluxe, she worked at Union Planters Bank in Marketing and Communications. Ms. Harris provides experience and strong advice in the development of a marketing/public relations plan for Freedom Preparatory Academy. Ms. Harris has also played an integral part in developing an identity for Freedom Prep.

BRUCE LANDAU President Landau Uniforms, Inc. Bruce Landau is President of Landau Uniforms, Inc., an international manufacturer of health care and corporate apparel, based in Olive Branch, MS. Mr. Landau leads an Executive Team of Vice Presidents of Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing, Design Development, Forecasting & Purchasing, I.T., & C.F.O. Mr. Landau will contribute his business expertise to ensuring that Freedom Prep remains a viable and strong organization.

COLLETTE REID-RICE Susan Collette Reid-Rice began her education at the University of Arkansas where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and completed graduate work. at the University of Tennessee College of Architecture and Design where she was awarded two different graduate assistantships, Drawing and Perception and Introduction to Computer Aided Design. She completed a summer internship with the prestigious architecture firm, Skidmore Owings and Merrill in San Francisco and was accepted to the Scuola di Architettura of Syracuse University where she studied abroad in Florence, Italy. Graduating with a Master in Architecture, she joined the firm buildingstudio, a world published design firm in Memphis, Tennessee. Ms. Reid-Rice provides a wealth of expertise in design and architecture that will contribute to Freedom Preparatory Academy as we search and potentially renovate facilities.
